Who May Enter:

The scholarship is a merit-based program is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate course overseas in any study subjects. To be eligible to apply, applicants must:

  • Applicant should be an Indian national with a valid Indian passport
  • The applicant should have a minimum scored of 60% in 10th and 12th.
  • Applicants should reflect that they lack means of self-funding their education abroad. Hence, the applicant should be planning to fund himself at least 50% through an education loan.
  • The applicant should be going to pursue any undergraduate (UG) or postgraduate (PG) course overseas to a recognized university/college outside India.
  • The course start date of the applicant should not be later than 31 October 2020.

The Education Future will offer various awards that depend on the quality of applications they receive. The value of each grant ranges between 2 Lacs to 10 Lacs Indian rupees. It is a unique position fund that not available for studying in India.

The fellowship provides tuition fees, allowance, accident and health insurance, travel expenses, etc.   Approximately 200 Fellowships are awarded annually.

UK & British Commonwealth Government Scholarships

British Chevening Scholarships: Chevening Scholarships, the UK government’s global scholarship program, are awarded to outstanding scholars from Chevening-eligible countries around the world. Awards are typically for a one-year Master’s degree. Most Chevening Scholarships cover tuition fees, a living allowance at a set rate (for one individual), an economy class return airfare to the UK, and additional grants to cover essential expenditure.  Around 1500 scholarships globally are being offered.

UK Commonwealth Scholarships for Developing Commonwealth Countries: The Commonwealth Scholarships are intended for students from developing Commonwealth countries who want to pursue Masters and Ph.D. study in the UK. European Government Scholarships

The Netherlands:

  • Orange Knowledge Programme: The Orange Knowledge Programme Scholarships are available for a selection of short courses (duration 2 weeks to 12 months) and master’s programs (duration 12 – 24 months).  An OKP scholarship is intended to supplement the salary that you should continue to receive during the study period in the Netherlands. The allowance is a contribution towards your costs of living such as tuition fees, visas, travel, insurance, etc.
  • Holland Scholarships for Non-EU/EEA Students: The Holland Scholarship, financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor’s or master’s at one of the Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences in Holland.  The scholarship amounts to €5,000.

Belgium

  • Government of Flanders Master Mind Scholarships for International Students: The Government of Flanders launches a new scholarship program, Master Mind Scholarships that aims to promote the internationalization of the Flemish Higher Education.  It awards up to 45 scholarships to outstanding Master students from all countries. The incoming student is awarded a scholarship of maximum €8,000 per academic year. The Flemish Host Institution can ask the applicant for a tuition fee of a maximum of €109 per year.
  • VLIR-UOS Scholarship Program: VLIR-UOS awards scholarships to students from 31 developing countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America to pursue an English Taught Training or Master’s Programme related to development at Universities in Belgium. The scholarships cover tuition fees, accommodation, allowance, travel costs,  and other program-related costs.

Germany

  • DAAD Scholarships for Development-Related Postgraduate Courses: The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides scholarships for a range of postgraduate courses with special relevance to developing countries at German Universities. The scholarships are specifically targeted to international students and young professionals from developing countries in Africa, Asia, Pacific Islands, Central and South America and Central and Eastern Europe.  DAAD scholarship supports selected programs with a variety of full or partial scholarships.

Switzerland

  • Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships: The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships provide graduates from around 180 countries with the opportunity to pursue doctoral or postdoctoral research in any academic field at one of the public-funded university or recognized institution in Switzerland.  The scholarship covers a monthly allowance, tuition fees, health insurance, lodging allowance, etc.

Sweden

  • Swedish Institute Study Scholarships: The Swedish Institute provides scholarships in Sweden to highly-qualified international students from developing countries who want to pursue full-time Masters studies at Swedish Universities. The scholarship covers tuition fees, living expenses, some travel grants, and insurance. About 335 scholarships are offered.

Denmark

  • Danish Government Scholarships for Non-EU/EEA Students: A number of scholarships are being offered each year by the Danish Ministry of Education to fund highly qualified and motivated international students from outside the EU/EEA who wish to pursue full degree higher education program at participating Danish Universities. The scholarship can be given as full or partial tuition fee waivers and/or grants towards covering your living costs.

  • Italian Government Scholarships for Foreign Students: The Italian Government awards scholarships for studying in Italy both to foreign citizens and Italian citizens resident abroad.   • Eiffel Excellence Scholarships: The Eiffel scholarship program was developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a tool to allow French higher education institutions to attract the best foreign students for masters and Ph.D. degree programs.  Eiffel scholarship-holders receive a monthly allowance and other expenses such as return trips, health insurance, and cultural activities.   • Singapore International Graduate Award: Singapore International Graduate Awards are given to international students with excellent academic undergraduate and/or master’s results, and a strong interest in doing research leading to a doctorate (PhD) in Science and Engineering at a Singapore University.  The award provides financial support for up to 4 years of PhD studies including full tuition fees, monthly stipend, settlement allowance, and airfare grant.

Hong Kong

  • Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme: Established in 2009 by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC), the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme aims to attract outstanding students in the world to pursue their PhD degree programs in Hong Kong’s institutions.  The Fellowship provides a monthly stipend and a conference and research-related travel allowance per year for a maximum period of three years.

Government of India Fully-Funded PhD Fellowships for ASEAN Students at IITs

Aspirants from ASEAN countries are welcome to apply for a fellowship to pursue a higher program at an IIT of their choice in India and get a chance to finish their PhD with funding that will cover the entire cost of study and living expenses for up to 5 years.

To participate, participants must follow the given guidelines:

  • Applicants apply online on the portal. To apply, applicants are required to take admission in one of an IITs in India. Explore IITs and apply for a fully-funded PhD program.
  • ASEAN students applying for the fellowships will require a student visa with an admission letter from IIT and last education certificate.
  • Visa Application is to be filled online at gov.in/visa/.
  • Applicants may be asked to provide additional documents, if needed, by the consular officer – Passport, photographs, and Signatures. Applicants must check the full detail for a student visa.

Award Description:

The Government of India will provide a total budget outlay of INR 300 crore in up to 1000 integrated PhD Fellowships (approximately USD 45 million). The benefits are as the following:

  • The maximum tenure of each fellowship is 5 years. Winners will receive a stipend per month as the following: INR 31,000/- for the first 2 years and INR 35,000/- for the next three years
  • Fellows will receive a research grant up to INR 170,000/- for research expenses such as travel, books, and contingency.
  • The program will also provide accommodation (monthly house rent allowance) up to 24% – as per Govt. norms (depending on the city) – of the stipend, if hostel accommodation not provided.

Schindler Global Award 2018-19

The Schindler Global Award (SGA) is a student urban design competition. It is focused on mobility, understood as a key driver of desirable change in urban areas around the world. The SGA will focus on the impact and implications of current and future mobility systems on urban development in one of the most globally significant cities – Mumbai.

The SGA 2018-19 is open to final-year bachelors and all master’s degree students of architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, and planning, from degree-granting educational institutions worldwide. Students can participate individually or in teams, and each entry must have a faculty supervisor.

The SGA is a one-of-a-kind urban design competition that encourages students to put their skills to the test. As the second largest city in the world, Mumbai presents many challenges, offering participating students the chance to engage with spatial, social and strategic topics.

  • The Schindler Global Award competition is open for entry by enrolled students as follows:
  • Bachelor’s degree candidates in their final and/or thesis year and Master’s degree candidates, along with their international equivalents in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, and planning.
  • The supervision by a university faculty member is required for all competition entries.
  • The supervising faculty member must be named at registration.
  • One registration is required for each team or individual who wishes to participate.
  • Each student may only participate as either part of a single team or individually.
  • All Participants must provide an e-mail address through which they can be contacted.
  • All registrations will be confirmed by email within seven days.
  • Each Participant whose registration is accepted will receive an official entry number. This entry number shall thereafter be quoted in all future correspondence with the competition management.
  • Participants who register to enter the competition as a team must designate one member of the team as a spokesperson to whom all correspondence will be addressed.

Required Documents:

Proof of Suitability Proof of current enrollment at a university in one of the eligible disciplines and student years is required, as well as a confirmation of the overseeing faculty member. Indications regarding the university, department or faculty, chair, and name of the supervising faculty member are required.

Award Description:

With over 100’000 US$ in prizes and a jury of international experts and practitioners, the Schindler Global Award gives the students of today a chance to contribute to the cities of tomorrow. The jury will nominate a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of twelve (12) projects, from which the winners will be selected.

A maximum of two representatives from each of the nominated teams, along with each nominated team’s supervising faculty member will be invited to attend the award ceremony. Schindler will reimburse the expenses for the journey and accommodation of up to two students per nominated team, along with their official supervising faculty member.

The competition organizers recommend the following distribution of the prize-money as stated below. However, the jury is free to assign the ranks, the related award categories and the respective prize-money.
